Use of the Pure Logo and other Pure intellectual property.

The position is complex and depends upon your status as either (or both) ;

1. A donor.
2. A ‘Fund Raiser’ or ‘Commercial Participator’ appointed under the Charitable Institutions (Fund Raising) Regulations 1994.

Donors

Understandably, many corporate donors wish to make public that they have offset their emissions with PURE. The following suggested TEXT sentences * may be used in their annual report, corporate social responsibility report, tender documents and other publicity materials. Please add/delete text in the square brackets as appropriate. Any variation from this standard text should be referred to PURE before its publication.

1. [Name of organisation] has offset its emissions by making a donation to Pure: the Clean Planet Trust (registered charity 1112249).
2. (optional, if you want to be more specific about actual emission, but should be used to qualify (1) if you have not offset all your emissions);
   
   We have calculated the carbon emissions associated with [energy consumption][vehicles][flights] [other] of our business activities. We calculate our emissions to be [x] tonnes per year *. [Our emissions calculations have been subject to third-party certification by [name of verifier]].
3. (Optional, if you want to the emphasise quality of emissions reductions).
   
   We have made a donation to Pure: the Clean Planet Trust, enabling Pure to purchase and retire carbon credits sourced from regulated marketplaces and from high quality projects that are subject to independent verification.
4. (Optional, if you want to mention the Code);
   
   Our offsetting meets the standards of the proposed UK Government Code of Best Practice for carbon offsetting.

* PURE recommends that your emissions should be audited by a suitably qualified third party professional before making such claims dependant upon the public performance standards appropriate to your business. For example, a large organisation might wish to satisfy its stakeholders by an appraisal by a specialist (n.b. PURE can recommend suitable organisations). However, a smaller organisation that has perhaps used PURE’s business calculator might simply ask its routine auditor to certify that the energy consumption, travel or similar is as stated. This is at your discretion as PURE is merely accepting a charitable donation.
