Our values and standards

PURE is committed to the highest quality of offsetting and carbon policy standards, the retirement of regulated and properly tradeable credits, value for money, and price transparency.

Emissions reduction projects issue carbon credits, which may be used by polluters within Kyoto emissions trading schemes for compliance purposes. Carbon credits purchased by PURE however, are cancelled by us and effectively put beyond use - thereby removing them from the international register, and hence limiting the amount of greenhouse gases that polluting companies can release into the atmosphere.

Our standards:

• PURE fully complies with the UK Government’s Quality Assurance Scheme for Carbon Offsetting, and was the first UK off-setter to cancel CERs in conformity with the previous draft Code of Best Practice.
  
  
• PURE was the world’s first carbon off-setter to receive quality ticks for all ten projects and transparency criteria from the independent Carbon Catalog.
  
  
• PURE is an official supporter of the Gold Standard, and currently supports two Gold Standard projects. 
  
  
• PURE's low expense ratio means that more of your donation goes directly to offset emissions. For eligible UK tax-payers we guarantee that 100% of your donation is used to offset.
